Gatwick Departures

Flying from Gatwick General Information

You are required to check in two hours before your flight is due to depart.Check in is by Zones - you must check the Departure monitors for details of your flight this will give the correct zone. Estimated time of Gatwick Flight Departures.

North Terminal Departure Area is on the top level. South Terminal Departure Area is on the same level as Arrivals. It is to the left as you enter the main concourse from all normal entrances. The mainline railway station where the Gatwick Express Stops is at the South Terminal with access from the main level.

The Transit monorail connects North & South Terminals. Once you have checked in and handed over any luggage you will have plenty of time to explore the Gatwick Airport for last minute shopping, food and drinks.

Keep checking the monitors for info on boarding and gate number. Boarding usually starts about 45 minutes before departure.

Your boarding pass will be inspected by airport security before you are allowed into the departure lounge. Places in VIP Gatwick Airport Lounge can be prebooked. You will be required to go through a security search. Departures - both terminals

If you are a ‘Departure’ and being dropped off, by a friend, taxi, cab, bus, coach etc. you can drive right up to the entrance, off load and straight into the terminal building. Follow the road signs for ‘Departures’ which is ‘up the ramp’ at both terminals. If your friend wants to wave goodbye or help you with your luggage then they must park in the short term parking area. There is no excuse!
